Body aches all over. I’m assuming it’s related to the surgery. Not sure how. It’s the same feeling from exercising too much or something.
Well that went way longer than I thought it would. Surgery was supposed to be at 11:30, doctor did not see me till 12. Operation “started” around 12:15 and I woke up around 1-2. This was supposed to be a 15 minute procedure.
What annoys me is that one of the screws broke and he just left it in there because he didn’t want to go digging for it. Uh, what? The thought of a broken screw in my bone is pretting agitating for me. It makes me wonder if the pain I was feeling last week was beause of this, because a couple weeks prior to that, there didn’t seem to be anything unusual in the X-rays, or I wonder if it broke during the surgery. Either way, I’m rather unhappy about it, especially since I was told this information while I was still under a heavily anesthestized state and didn’t have the presence of mind to ask for more information, and I don’t get to see him till next week. UGH.
I don’t mind if it’s only in there temporarily as long as it’s removed along with the rest of my hardware in the future, because I really don’t want to live the rest of my life with bits of metal in my foot unless it’s absolutely necessary. But somehow, I don’t think that’s the case. Seems like it would be even harder to find and remove later if the bone on the closer side is healed already. I’m assuming it’s stuck in my tibula.
Oh, that dreaded hour. Must remember not to drink past midnight and when I wake up.
Leqi came over for some planning. Not as productive as expected. Ate at Ristorante Marcello. Not as good as before. Both veals were a bit sour and it turns out Irish Coffee (even though they included it on the list of coffee at the end) was not included as part of the meal (which listed coffee or tea) because apparently it was a bar drink and it was eh because it had alcohol and I don’t really drink. Turns out she doesn’t either.
At least my foot doesn’t hurt anymore today.
Massaging it seems to help. So does not wearing shoes.
I wonder if it’s because I didn’t have physical therapy this week since I usually get the ankle massaged during the latter half of each session.
Sword check.
Yellow/gold paper?
Hair gel? No.
Glasses? Maybe.
Clothing? Eh, probably not.
Gah.
That was a lot of annoyance for no good reason. Made flight reservations today, realized several hours later that it was wrong. So called them up. Apparently I got a new person who had no idea how to do stuff or their policies who somehow managed to charge me an extra $600 for a simple flight day change. Naturally I got annoyed at that and made them put everything back the way it was.
Called several hours later and the new person was much better. Quick, efficient, and even knew that there was supposed to be a 20-hour grace period on changes. So all’s good now.
In between, went over to SFSU to check our their observatory with Leqi. Was… a bit disappointed. All their telescopes are computerized and preset at objects in the sky, so no looking around by yourself for interesting stuff. I should’ve brought my binoculars. The view is pretty good up there. Discussed our plans for the trip next month and decided we were hungry since neither of us had eaten yet. Only thing open was Chevy’s so that’s what we had. Their… mixed grill plate was pretty good actually. Other was stuff was just standard fare. Didn’t finish though. We always end up ordering a bit too much (even though it was just one appetizer and one main dish).
Also, my new external hard drive arrived. Which means I can start taking photos again! (every time my memory card fills up, that’s 8GB, not including post-processing)
