“We’re here because of the more than one hundred workers in Logansport, Indiana who just found out that their company has decided to move its entire factory to Taiwan.”
Except reporters from HK’s Ming Pao newspapers discovered that while they did indeed relocate their factory, it was to Thailand, not Taiwan.
Haha when I heard it, I thought it was strange to move a factory to Taiwan since I didn’t think that happened too much anymore (because there’s no space or it’s not as profitable?).
I have to say though, a LOT of people (in the US, at least) confuse Thailand with Taiwan :p
I bet some of those workers probably got confused and told him it Taiwan.
I love how Asians don’t get that Westerners can’t tell the difference between the different countries/ethnicities (and Westerners don’t get that Asians can’t tell the difference between European countries/ethnicities) — but everyone expects everyone else to be able to do so.
